My Opinion:
Great novelty car. Great competition for the z06. Seriously though? $22-25k more than the gt500? For what? Suspension,Shelby badging, random carbon fiber parts,20" inch wheels, brakes, exhaust and cooling ducts. I suppose with all the after market parts everything adds up. But it's a shame you can only get the 600hp version with a warranty and not the 725hp version. I think it's a stunning looking mustang but IMO it's more of a collectors car and a weekend car.
In all honesty I would just buy a Gt500 stock and spend about $2k in mods and run 9's.Such as the car in the video below, the mods to the car are also listed below.
Mods:
JLT Carbon Fiber CAI
2.5 Pulley
75 shot nitrous
Headers
Slicks
Dyno Tuned Making:

Your prescription is fine - if you want to drag, but I don't think drag racing is really all that exciting. The original Shelby Mustangs were race bred for international motor racing at Sebring (the 12 hour) and Le Mans (24 hours). That is racing. I want a Mustang that will handle, so I would love to have the suspension mods that Shelby provides with the Super Snake. If you want to spin your slicks, smoke them away and drag for 1/4 mile, you are dead right. If you find that boring, then try the Super Snake.
